It is important to understand that no faith formation program can replace the role of the parents to form their children in the Catholic faith. We strive to make our program the best that it can be, but it can only ever supplement the work of the family.
Here at Saint Peter's, it is our mission to help form lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. In order to achieve this end, we provide daily opportunities for our young people. Every morning between 7:40 AM - 8:10 AM, before the kids go to school, we provide some type of faith formation.
Beginning August 2024, Mondays we will start the week with Mass at 7:40am.
Our Tuesday mornings we spend time learning and meditating on the life of Christ as we pray the mysteries of the Rosary.
Wednesdays and Thursdays we have classroom catechesis divided up by grade level, starting with kindergarten and ending with 8th grade. These classes are taught by our parishioners who volunteer their time and energy to help ensure that the beauty of our faith is passed down to the next generation of disciples.
It is on Fridays that we reach the apex of the formation experience as we bring the kids to Mass. In the Sacrifice of the Mass, we encounter the infinite love of God in the most profound way imaginable as He gives Himself to us in His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
High school classroom catechesis is held on Wednesday evenings from 7:15 PM - 8:15 PM, immediately following the 6:30 PM Mass which we highly encourage them to attend.
Through these daily activities we hope to enable our children to understand that their faith is not merely a weekly Sunday obligation, but a way of life which ought to be lived out each and every day.
When registering your child for Religious Education, please complete our registration form as well as the Forms A and B, which are required by the Diocese of Fort Worth.
Form A is a basic form that is good for an entire year. Form B needs to be filled out for each specific type of event. If you are filling out form B for a recurring event, such as religious education class, you only need to fill it out once a year for that event.
If you are trying to register your child and the form is not below, please contact Deacon Ralph Lira at the Parish office (940)668-7609 or via email at [email protected].
